A Pillar is one of the major connections of the Web. Multiple Threads and Anchors connect to the Web, making the few Pillars that exist the key components of the Web's integrity. Loss of a Pillar has never been reported, but it would be absolutely disastrous. When a Pillar is cut, a section of the Web is lost, the grand design utterly damaged. Entire Threads and Anchors are lost forever.

Travel to and from a Pillar is quite easy, as they connect to so many other Threads and more than a few Anchors. Also, due to their central location, they are often waypoints on the route to the Hub.
